- DJudges never decide disputes between members of the public
Answer: Judges can rule that an action of the government is illegal and Judges can order a public body to pay compensation
If judges find a government action illegal, the government must change its policy or ask Parliament to change the law. A public body that ignores someone's legal rights can be ordered to pay compensation. Judges also settle disputes, and the government cannot interfere with trials.
